The story of Mr. Whisker was born in our rescue centre. In 2024 we decided that the lack of a wildlife rescue centre in the province of Utrecht would not do anymore. So we decided to create one ourselves. Stichting Snorhaar (The Whisker Foundation) was born, a wildlife rescue centre for small mammals.

The first year over 600 animals needed our aid, a year after that, it was over 900. In 2026 it will be over 1300. This steady growth shows us that what we do is necessary.

Rescueing small mammals is not an easy task. We need help for that. We have an average of 85 volunteers throughout the year, support from a vet, and financial support from donors and some municipalities. 

The food, care and veterinary costs are high with the amount of animals that need our support. The Whisker Diaries help us to get extra means to provide the best care for all the animals at the Whisker Foundation. All proceedings go directly to the foundation which means that your support helps the animals!
